The Human Resources (HR) Assistant is a professional who handles the daily administrative and HR duties for the City of Oshkosh Human Resources team.
They will assist with recruitment, record maintenance, and employee questions or concerns, and provide clerical support as needed.
They will have outstanding administrative and communication skills and will be expected to be a conceptual thinker with superb organizational and time management talents.
The HR Assistant will be reliable and able to accurately follow instructions with the ability to multitask.
To ensure success, this role should possess a solid understanding of conflict management and decision-making skills.
Top performers will be strong at problem-solving, efficient in scheduling, and precise in their attention to detail.
This position provides paraprofessional, technical administrative assistance, performing a wide variety of responsible work within Human Resources.
Duties include independently executing a wide variety of functions including assisting with staffing activities including recruiting, interviewing, and new employee onboarding; overseeing the HR record-keeping systems; documenting HR related processes related to FMLA, collective bargaining, employee wellness and employee development; and providing employee assistance related to payroll, timekeeping, leave accounting, and benefits.

Required Minimum Education and Experience:
* Associate’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
* At least one year of experience in an administrative support role, preferably in Human Resources.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $44,479.
