80 Hours Per Week 40 Job Description Summary This position provides technical support for FVTC's Learning Management System (LM) online assessments, and all instructional web tools, including the live virtual course delivery system.
The employees in this position are also responsible for scheduling and administration of the online course evaluation system and collects and maintains statistics for all FVTC classes and system-wide evaluations.
Employee curates and maintains communities within Blackboard.
Job Description ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Administer the LMS and provide technical support and assistance for students, faculty, and staff.
This function includes maintaining the LMS database, monitoring and troubleshooting student enrollments in online, hybrid, virtual, and in person classes, and course management and monitoring assistance to faculty.
Administer the online assessment system and perform complex troubleshooting technical assistance for the FVTC online assessment software.
Administer the online course evaluation system, including overseeing and coordinating the resources and software configurations to meet the requirements of departments and users across the college, and serving as the primary college contact with the software support teams.
Work closely with faculty and members of academic and student services leadership to design, develop, and maintain LMS community sites, including identifying the functional requirements of the departments and student groups that will use the communities.
Compile and track statistics for capacity, utilization, student enrollment, and student retention for FVTC flexible learning/distance education classes.
Train faculty and students in the use of the LMS, the live virtual course delivery system, and the course evaluation system along with all third party instructional web tools.
Plan, design, develop, automate, implement, and maintain application systems, programs, and databases to meet project specifications which include products such as Kaltura, Content Collection, and Blackboard Alignments, etc.
Provide technical research and testing for development and enhancement of the online learning environment.
Analyze and recommend production software needs and integrations of third-party applications.
Support operational online course standard initiatives and maintain and conform to software development standard guidelines and procedures.
Provide project management and leadership for team members and users for various projects.
Maintain technological awareness of new and emerging hardware and software technology affecting the District's overall instructional needs.
Provide frontline support for all end users of the online course management system.
Provide back-up support for the infrastructure to the online course management system.
Provide support and perform specialist duties as it relates to Blackboard projects.
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS Assist in the development of processes and procedures as they relate to online delivery and identify potential obstacles to the application of those processes.
Provide support to faculty relating to online course design.
Assist in developing operational plan each fiscal year.
Act as liaison with web services team.
Perform environmental checks (including evening and weekends).
Verify synchronizer is performing for a seamless operation.
QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE Associate Degree in Computer Information Systems or equivalent with a strong emphasis on learning management systems and microcomputer applications (learning management system administration and assessment/evaluation systems) AND Three years of recent, relevant development experience with learning management systems and evaluation technologies, AND Advanced knowledge of training systems, data analysis, HTML (webpage and website design preferred), and computer software applications, including databases, spreadsheets, and word processing and skills in business writing AND Strong knowledge of object-oriented, event driven, web-based enterprise application development OR An equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience.
Valid driver's license.

Additional Information Starting pay: $30.
80 per hour.
Note: Internal applicants' wages will be based on the applicable compensation structure.
