The Heart of the Valley YMCA is hiring LIVESTRONG Instructors.
As a LIVESTRONG Instructor, you would implement fitness classes for cancer survivors in a safe, enjoyable and positive environment that promotes wellness and engagement.
Invest your heart into making an impact with cancer survivors.
This is part-time position, roughly 3 hours weekly (two 75-min classes).
All trainings required are provided by the Y.
LIVESTRONG is a 12-week evidence-based program designed for cancer survivors who have recently become de-conditioned or chronically fatigued from their treatment and or disease.
This is a FREE program for the participants.
Participants work with YMCA staff trained in supportive cancer care to safely achieve their goals such as building muscle mass and strength, increasing flexibility and endurance; and improving confidence and self-esteem.
Applicants to be 18 years of age or older
Group Exercise, Personal Training certification or education in the fitness field is preferred
Certification in CPR, AED and First Aid is preferred or be willing to obtain through the YMCA once hired.
Availability to teach at least 2 classes per week.
