The St.
Francis Xavier Catholic School System is seeking a Middle School Choir/General Music Teacher (1 FTE).
A Teacher who can help students come to love and appreciate music in a Catholic learning environment.
The teacher will have a passion to inspire students to group in their music enjoyment, appreciation, skills and performances:
*Responsibilities:*
* Teach and develop classroom materials for: Choir (Grades 6-8), General Music (Grade 5) and Music Theory (Grade 6-8)
* Plans, rehearses, and directs students in musical performances/concerts
* Provides opportunities for music ensembles
* Experience with Catholic liturgical music preferred
* Develop and use authentic assessment techniques aligned with learning goals and objectives
* Cooperate with other teachers to integrate music across the classes, curriculum, and campus
* Collaborate with other Fine Arts teachers at the campus and across the Xavier System
* Maintain accurate and complete records of student's progress and development
*Qualifications:*
* A bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university is required
* Current Wisconsin DPI license (1515 General Music/1511 Choral Music) or ability to obtain a Wisconsin DPI teaching license
* Previous experience in a school setting is beneficial, but not required
* Demonstrate proficiencies in the use of technology including hardware, software, and applications
* Knowledgeable of music standards, content, best practices, differentiation, modifications, and accommodations within the curriculum
* Good written and verbal communication skills and technical reading and writing skills
* Submission to a legal background check
