Under the direction of the Fitness Director, the Personal Trainer is responsible for developing safe, structured and motivational personal training programs designed to meet members’ individual fitness goals and needs.
In addition, the Personal Trainer is highly encouraged to work a minimum of 1 health and Wellness Center floor shift (average 4 hours/week) on a weekly basis.
The Personal Trainer is also responsible for maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the fitness equipment and floor areas.
Hours per Week: Part-Time
Qualifications:
Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED, national certification (ACE, ACSM, NSCA, NASM) in personal training.

Certification in Personal Training (ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA)

Bachelors Degree Preferred in fitness/wellness related field.

At least one year of experience in the health and wellness industry.

Work in cooperation with the Health and Wellness Director and/or HWC Coordinator to provide personalized fitness training and exercise leadership expertise in the areas of exercise prescriptions and fitness assessment/testing.
Fill out all required paperwork, health history forms and obtain medical clearance when necessary.
Keep all paperwork confidential, HIPPA compliant.
Meet with clients regularly to establish training routine based upon client goals.
Engage and motivate clients in order to meet established goals.
Maximize safety of each user by assisting in appropriate fitness area/equipment instruction/ supervision and appropriate
Keep track of appointments and provide weekly scheduling report to Fitness Director.
Build relationships with members.
Clean and maintain fitness equipment in HWC and aerobic rooms.
Report any needs to the Health and Wellness Director regarding training, policy changes, etc.
Assist Health and Wellness Director with special events as needed.
Follow all policies and procedures of the YMCA.
Wear proper uniform and name tag.
Complete all payroll forms, SOAP Notes in a timely manner.
Attend all meetings.
