14/hr FLSA Status: Non-exempt Terms of Employment: Continuous Position Summary: This full time, 12-month position is responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising student tutors on all 3 UW Oshkosh campuses – Fox Cities campus in Menasha, Fond du Lac campus, and the Oshkosh campus.
The Tutor Coordinator works closely with instructors as well as student tutors and will assist the staff on each campus to provide both online and in-person content tutoring services.
This position may travel to all 3 campuses with percentage of time worked on each campus determined by tutoring needs.
The position requires excellent communication, the ability to work with a broad range of people, the ability to adapt to change, and a commitment to support the university's mission to promote student learning.
This position reports to the Director of the Center for Academic Resources on the Oshkosh campus.
Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.
m.
– 4:30 p.
m.
and may include infrequent evening hours for training and observations.

Responsibilities Responsibilities : 60% Conduct hiring, training, and supervision of student tutors.
a.
Recruit, hire, and train tutors; adhering to best practices in the field, including involvement of instructors in the selection process and incorporating learning theory and effective communication within training b.
Assess learner performance and prepare reports recommending instructional improvements c.
Develop and facilitate ongoing professional development and training for tutors d.
Identify high demand courses and coordinate group tutoring whenever necessary e.
Coordinate the Oshkosh campus Math Drop-in Tutoring lab including selection and scheduling of tutors f.
Supervise tutoring within each location under the direction of the Director 30% Conduct ongoing evaluations of student tutors and tutoring program a.
Create, disseminate, and collect evaluations on tutor training as well as tutor performance each semester b.
Analyze impact of training and tutor performance in collaboration with the Director and staff on each campus; make necessary changes to program to enhance quality and effectiveness c.
Conduct formal and informal tutor observations and provide written and/or verbal feedback d.
Coordinate and conduct tutor check-in meetings to improve employee retention 10% Assist in maintaining overall operations of department a.
Support program objectives in coordination with all staff members b.
Participate in strategic planning to enhance departmental service provision and student experience c.
Develop and provide a consistent student employment experience among campuses Qualifications Required: 1.
Experience as a teacher, trainer, tutor, group tutor, SI Leader, and/or with other learning assistance programs 2.
Experience supervising students or employees 3.
Experience developing and managing complex schedules 4.
Familiarity with basic principles of learning assistance and evaluation 5.
Ability to work independently 6.
Demonstrated ability to use electronic communication, standard office software, and spreadsheets in an office or work environment.

A Bachelor's Degree in Education or a Master’s degree 2.
An understanding of teaching and learning best practices, acquired through an appropriate academic degree or related work experience 3.
