JOB Recreation is all about the fun! Be part of a child's life by providing them an encouraging space to develop sports skills and help put on family friendly special events.
The Program Instructor will be responsible for supporting Menasha Parks and Recreation programs by being prepared to properly implement the lesson plans in a professional and positive manner.
Instructors will provide exceptional customer service and provide a safe and encouraging environment for the program participants.
Programs Include (not limited to): GymnasticsCheerleadingDanceBaseball/TeeBallSoccerTennisPickleballVolleyballArcheryTot LotCamp ChampsSpecialty Camps (Mermaid/Shark, Safety Academy, Ninja Camp)Special EventsMinimum Age is 14.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Be professional and prepared.
This includes being dressed in an appropriate clothing for the activity and sun protection if outdoors.
Have lesson plans and materials readily available for class time.
Be knowledgeable and prepared with varying teaching tactics and drills to instruct the skills.
Training is provided.
Be a proactive (take all steps to prevent accidents) instructor rather than reactive.
Be assertive, aware, and consistent.
Use a progressive approach if students do not heed the corrections.
Be alert and ready to respond at all times to the class.
Know where all students are at all times during class time.
Greet, direct, and assist program participants throughout lesson plan in accordance with rules, regulations, training, policies, and procedures Provide each student with both positive and constructive feedback.
Communicate with caregivers regarding feedback around the child’s progress in class and be available and approachable before and after class for questions.
Keep accurate attendance records and follow-up with leads regarding student absences.
Start and end classes on time.
Participate in pre-season and regularly scheduled trainings and additional meetings as requested.
Be on the lookout for hazardous situations and take necessary actions to prevent accidents.
Keep all equipment and supplies in good repair, and keep the program area free of debris.
Assists with Parks and Recreation Department special events as needed.
Report for work as scheduled.
Provide support to staff and communicate effectively to never leave a class unattended.
Be responsible for routine maintenance and cleaning duties as assigned, including clean-up tasks at the beginning and end of the program.
Act respectfully while on duty and project a positive image of the pool staff and the Park & Recreation Department.
Communicate in a positive, respectful, helpful manner to all participants and fellow team members.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Availability and ability to work outside normal work hours with minimal notice.
Ability to work in varied environment conditions.
