Primary Purpose of the Role
The Business Intelligence Architect will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining a robust and scalable business intelligence environment that empowers Hoffmaster to extract valuable insights from our data.
This role involves working closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to understand data requirements, design data models, develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and implement BI solutions.
The BI Architect plays a key role in ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and usability while maintaining alignment with Hoffmaster’s strategic goals.
Essential Job Duties
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their data needs and requirements.
Helping to define the scope of BI initiatives.
• Design and develop data models, data warehouses, and data marts that support Hoffmaster's analytical and reporting needs.
• Create and maintain ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading from various source systems into the data warehouse.
• Develop and design the architecture of the BI platform, including selecting appropriate tools and technologies, data visualization tools, and dashboards.
• Ensure seamless integration of data from multiple sources, both structured and unstructured, to provide a unified and comprehensive view of the organization's data.
• Optimize the performance of the BI environment, data retrieval, and report generation to provide timely and efficient access to information.
• Implement data quality standards and governance policies to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security.
• Establish and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
• Provide training and support to end-users, enabling them to navigate the BI environment and use self-service reporting tools effectively.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for BI architecture, ETL processes, data models, and reports.
• Effectively communicate BI solutions and strategies to non-technical stakeholders, translating business needs into technical requirements and vice versa.
Required Skills and Abilites
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Proven experience in business intelligence, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, SQL, and database management systems.
• Proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, or similar.
• Understanding of data governance, data quality, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
• Project management and leadership abilities.
