Join our growing team: Small Engine/ Heavy Equipment- Equipment Mechanic As a Mechanic, you will be assisting with preventative maintenance and repairs of company fleet and equipment for use on company grounds and job sites.
Ensuring safety and reliable operation of vehicles, trucks, and equipment including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic repairs and maintenance.

Core Objectives: Conducts work based on work orders requested on landscape equipment, small engines, fleet maintenance and repairs.
Diagnose and repair/replace various parts/components that have failed or are causing malfunctions on the equipment, such as, but not limited to: transmissions, engines, drain lines, rear axles, gear boxes, springs, drive lines, operator compartments, fixed ladders and walkways, and other mechanical parts.
Service equipment, including grease trucks and related equipment, change oil / fluids; welding of components necessary for the repair of equipment and/or fabrication of components/parts necessary for the repair of the equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems, hydraulic components, repair problems on steering systems, and make needed repairs on the brake system of all equipment.
Provide service to equipment, including greasing trucks and equipment, change oil, fluids; and welding needed to fabricate of repair equipment.
Respond to service calls coordinate equipment to be fixed.
Adhere to company and industry policies and requirements in regards to PPE and safety, included but not limited to OSHA, and DOT/ FMCSA rules and regulations.
Utilize shop equipment tools including but not limited to hand tools, welders, and touches.
Problem solves issues with shop supervisor and Head Mechanic, to determine the most time and cost-effective method to fix, repair and resolve the problem.
Communicates with foremen, personal, and supervisor to discover information and determine time needed for repair.
Generate questions or suggestions on repairs to share with shop supervisor.
Complete shop paperwork Maintain a clean and safe work area Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or GED certificate Post-secondary certificate or degree in engineering OR training as a mechanic (a plus) 2 to 5 years of experience with diesel/heavy equipment repair Welding experience (a plus) Manual dexterity Valid driver's license and a clean driving record Ability to climb stairs and ladders, reach, squat, push, and pull objects.

Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all temperatures and weather.
