The Heart of the Valley YMCA is hiring day camp counselors for this summer's Camp Kimber Y program.
Spend your summer both indoors and out, exploring the nature, playing games, creating art and teaching school age children.

Day Camp Lead: Responsible for the day-to-day operation of all day camp procedures, health and welfare of campers, security, and communication with staff and parents.
Responsible for providing leadership for the Day Camp Program in both large and small group activities.
Day Camp Assistant: Assist and provide a variety of developmentally appropriate material and activities, which foster social skills and encourages children to think, problem solve, question and experiment.
Implements a daily schedule based on developmentally appropriate activities for school aged children.
This is a full- or part-time position, with trainings starting in late May and children arriving in June, through August 2024.
Full-time hours: Monday-Friday, 7:45 AM-4:00 PM
Part time hours: Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM-8:30 AM and 3:00 PM-5:30 PM
Lead-Qualified Counselor Requirements:
18 years of age or older.
Minimum 3 credits equivalent to education or a related field –or- have completed 80 hours of correspondence courses.
Have had at least 80 full days or 120 half days of experience in a licensed child care center or other approved early childhood setting.
Have earned at least 2 years of credit at an institution of higher education that includes 3 credits in education or related degree –or- Associates Degree in Early Childhood or related degree.
Assistant Qualified Counselor Requirements:
18 years of age or older
Completed one non-credit course in early childhood education.
Minimum educational requirement – 15 hour school age assistant correspondence course or Introduction to Child Care Profession.
