The role of the Business Development Manager is to act as the ‘face’ of the company and the first point of contact for prospects and customers.
The responsibility of this role is to focus on growing market share in the distribution, fulfillment, and storage within the Chemical Logistics field.
An ideal candidate should understand the compliance and regulatory requirements including OSHA, DOT, and EPA among others.
This salary plus commission position will report to the VP of Sales and will collaborate with a variety of people throughout the company.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve aggressive sales goals.
Generate revenue through prospecting, qualifying, and closing new business.
Partner with customers and internal teams for a fair return for our company and value to customers.
Understand customer requirements, procedures, and goals to collaborate with Operations.
Develop and maintain long-term consultative customer relationships to understand and offer solutions.
Run prospecting playbooks geared towards target accounts and target markets.
Schedule as many meetings with prospective companies and key stakeholders as possible.
Identify internal stakeholders and key intelligence within the target account.
Execute our current strategy, and research outbound strategies to enhance our sales efforts.
Continuously improve opportunity generation.
Report on campaign KPIs including meetings kept, opportunities created, opportunities qualified.
Manage dataset of target accounts in WSI’s CRM and develop nurturing strategies.
Keep key decision-makers informed of updates to our platform.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Marketing, or related field.
Experience in outbound prospecting and closing business in the Chemical Logistics industry is required – specifically with chemical products distribution/storage/handling/fulfillment experience.
Should be well versed in chemical industry regulations including DOT, EPA OSHA, and CTPAT.
Knowledge of Responsible Care compliance would be valuable.
Previous membership or affiliation with the National Association of Chemical Distributors.
3-5 years of sales experience presenting solutions through a consultative sales process is required.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Work out of a remote home location, with proximity to an airport for travel via airplane.
Travel required; estimates may vary based on home location.
Ability to sit for extended periods within an office environment.
Ability to use hands and fingers for computer keyboarding, and answer phone calls.
Ability to communicate via the telephone using speaking and hearing skills.
COMPENSATION
$75k-90k Base + Commission (Uncapped)
