EAA annually hosts the AirVenture Fly-In at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
The event is EAA's annual convention and draws more than 650,000 people and 10,000 aircraft.

SUMMARY The Public Relations intern will, under the supervision of the Director of Communications, be responsible for providing administrative support to staff, conducting various research projects, drafting news media releases and news content, and assisting with the Public Relations/Journalism aspects of EAA operations.
The purpose of these activities is to provide the selected student with an opportunity to develop their skills and contribute to the understanding of their educational emphasis.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Writing news releases and media sheets to be submitted to communications staff for approval.
Compiling and tracking media clips to identify extent of EAA’s media coverage.
Contacting media to set up interviews and coordinating radio and print media coverage.
Conducting research using Internet, Public Relations software and library resources.
Compiles and updates aviation statistics.
Participates and provides support to Communications staff, including as part of the media relations staff during the seven days of the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh fly-in.
Assists with daily operations and media support.
Provides administrative support to EAA’s communications staff including filing, typing correspondence and performing other administrative and clerical tasks utilizing Word, Excel, Outlook, the Internet and media information.
Embraces and supports the EAA mission and performs safe practices in the workplace and aviation environment.
All other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Prefer a student majoring in Public Relations, Journalism or Communications or related field of study.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point, as well as basic social media tools (e.
g.
, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
) Ability to generate and deliver persuasive and clear verbal and written communications.
Writing is an important element of this position.

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Preparation for AirVenture or other events may require lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, standing and walking for extended periods of time while bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and push and pull motions.
