The increased demand for CMD’s products and services has resulted in the need for a Sales and Marketing Support Specialist, who’s role plays a crucial role in helping our sales and marketing teams achieve their goals.
What You Will Be Doing The role involves creating and managing written sales correspondence including verifying the accuracy of quotations and proposals, handling order acknowledgments, order specifications, and changes in order specifications.
In addition, there may be instances where the position needs to act as a mediator between CMD and customers when the Regional Sales Managers are unavailable.
Assists the Corporate Market Manager with implementing marketing strategies and campaigns that promote the organization's products and services.
What Sales and Marketing Support Specialist’s Need for this Position Must Have: Associate or bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration or related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of related business-to-business (B2B) marketing experience.
General understanding of various marketing software, platforms, and best practices.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Internet, and social media.
Experience with CRM software and marketing automation tools a plus.
Basic digital photography & video skills a plus.
A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Data entry accuracy.
Time management, detail oriented, and creative.
Multitasker - able to handle diverse projects while meeting tight deadlines.
Must have organizational skills and the ability to develop a strong rapport with internal and external customers.
Essential Sales Duties: Maintains standard proposal formats and periodically reviews standard machine descriptions for accuracy and completeness, with assistance from product line managers and product line engineers.
Assists Regional Sales Managers with generating/formatting customer quotations on a timely basis, as needed.
Coordinates the order review process for machine orders and internal product development projects.
Prepares, routes, and distributes approved order acknowledgements, order specifications, change orders internally and externally.
Ensures that machine pre-ship inspection is completed in a timely manner.
Serves as liaison between manufacturing, engineering, accounting, and technical services departments to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved, and to maintain timely/accurate communication among departments.
Handles customer follow-ups while salespeople are traveling (i.
e.
, order updates, quote follow-ups, etc.
).
Performs all clerical functions: updates customer/prospect database; maintains and organizes customer and prospect files (electronic and hard copy); takes notes in meetings; prepares written correspondence (ex.
visa letters of invitation, confidentiality agreements).
Assists sales managers, VP of Sales & Marketing, President with PowerPoint presentations, charts, and research, as needed.
Supports Customer Services Coordinator in preparing for customer visits when necessary.
Assists RSMs with scheduling demos and communicating demos to the organization.
Monitors supplies, and orders items for sales area and all other conference rooms as needed.
Prepares annual holiday card and gift mailing to prospects and customers.
Recommends improvements to internal department and inter-departmental processes to ensure an efficient sales order processing workflow.
Essential Marketing Duties: Tracks effectiveness and measures results of email campaigns and other marketing activities.
Assists with implementation of internet marketing programs for social media including YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and others as identified.
Assists with online web initiatives, including website content and updates, design, email campaigns, newsletter campaigns and advertising.
Maintains news rotator on CMD’s intranet, Connect.
Creates pages, surveys, lists, other items in SharePoint.
Assists in organizing events such as customer visits, trade shows, conferences, and webinars.
Serves as resource for HR by posting jobs, updating website careers page, and sourcing and ordering giveaways for job fairs.
General: Participates in internal committees and focus groups as requested and time permits (ex.
Events Committee, Safety, Wellness Committee), and occasionally assists in setting up for company functions.
Visibly supports “lean” and other process improvement activities.
Participates in rapid improvement events.
Applies continuous improvement practices to one’s job.
Supports transition activities, as required.
Maintains an open mind throughout the change process.
Works with others to continuously fuel improvement throughout the Company.
Contributes to CMD’s core competencies of Market Intelligence and Product Development by gathering and reporting all relevant information.
This includes: customer needs/wants/activities; competitive information; market trends; and new technology trends.
